Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax advisory services for corporate and individual clients, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws. Â
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns and related filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Â
- Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients to optimize their tax positions and reduce liabilities. Â
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and communicate these developments to clients. Â
- Manage a team of tax professionals, offering mentorship and guidance to junior staff members. Â
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide integrated services to clients. Â
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering excellent customer service and addressing client queries promptly. Â
- Lead client meetings and presentations, ensuring clear communication of complex tax matters.
Requirements and skills
- A professional qualification in Accounting (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) and/or a relevant tax qualification. Â
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a tax-related role, with a proven track record in tax advisory. Â
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian tax laws and international tax principles. Â
- Strong leadership and team management skills. Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients effectively. Â
- High attention to detail and ability to handle complex tax matters. Â
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Â
- Proficient in using tax software and MS Office applications.
