The Client Accounting Associate is either a fresh graduate or experienced professional who demonstrates a strong aptitude for ongoing learning on accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, technical research, consolidation, financial statements preparation, among others.
The Client Accounting Associate will demonstrate a strong tone and culture to support high quality client accounting engagements and is committed to maintain objectivity, ethics, integrity and attention to details. The Client Accounting Associate is expected to observe, understand, learn and apply the basic concepts as well as advanced requirements of accounting-related engagements. This will require the Client Accounting Associate to invest significant time in understanding the dynamics of an accounting team and their responsibilities during an engagement, while applying procedures from the accounting principles under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The Client Accounting Associate will be assigned a “Mentor” who will be grooming the Associate to achieve the next step as a Senior and will also be trained to execute complex deliverables such as consolidation and grow in technical competence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Display high level of commitment, objectivity, attention to details, ethics and integrity.
- Learn to prepare engagement plans for accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, consolidation, financial statement preparation and related engagements
- Scope, prepare risk assessment and planning of work for every engagement.
- Complete the preparation of standalone financial statements in compliance with the requirements of IFRSs.
- Identify anomalies in basic accounting treatment, assess their impact on the financial statement as a whole and coordinate with Management for timely resolution of identified issues.
- Build expertise in IFRSs.
- Submit quality deliverables for review with minimal or no queries on quality of the engagement.
- Supporting the accounting team in their daily functions.
- Resolving client and accounting team queries efficiently.
Requirements and skills
- Fresh University Graduates or have up to 3 years of past audit experience.
- ACCA/ACA qualified or partly qualified and on course for completion.
- Versatile and skillful with Excel, Advanced Excel and Accounting Software.
- Highly disciplined professional with an eye for detail and hungry to learn & self-develop.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and proficient manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Basic introductory level of knowledge on accounting procedures.
- Start displaying familiarity with local laws and regulations.
- Good project and time management skills.
- Ability to think outside the box and identify issues from a technical perspective.
- Detail-oriented.
