The Client Accounting Senior Associate is an experienced professional of more than 3 years of experience and plays a crucial role in delivering on accounting, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, payroll, and other accounting related engagements.
The Client Accounting Senior Associate must be meticulous and analytical, with deep knowledge of accounting practices, be reliable, with strong organizational skills, as well as possess a good knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local laws and regulations.
The Senior Associate is expected to possess knowledge in a wide-ranging spectrum of industries including both public and private sectors, legal, financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, retail & distribution, manufacturing among others.
Their responsibilities extend from engagement planning, monitoring, oversight & training of peers, execution, client and stakeholder management, fieldwork among others.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, perform and execute accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, consolidation, financial statement preparation and other related engagements.
- Continuous learning to upskill knowledge and become conversant in all technical aspects of accounting related engagement.
- Meet and exceed corporate targets on engagement and recovery.
- Execute the annual planning and deliver on different engagements in collaboration with the team members.
- Allocate responsibilities to associates and junior accountants for every assigned engagement.
- Monitor engagement progress, delivery and quality against the plan and course correct where required.
- Take responsibility to deliver the highest level of quality aligning with relevant standards such as IFRS and IAS while meeting client and statutory deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
- Review work of Junior team members on a timely basis to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of deliverables.
- Provide continuous on-the-job training and constructive feedback to team members for every engagement.
- Coach and develop people by sharing knowledge and helping team members develop skills that cultivate technical competencies.
- Assist in the development and delivery of technical training to internal and external audiences.
- Develop and maintain productive client relationships and networks.
Requirements and skills
- Between 3 to 5 years of past audit experience or equivalent.
- Degree Holder and/or ACCA/ACA qualified or partly qualified and on course for completion.
- Prior experience in audit or accounting practice or equivalent.
- Skillful and experienced in complex project management.
- Good time management skills.

- Ability to deliver on set KPIs.
- Ability to design, prepare and deliver presentations to a broad audience.
